We look forward to seeing you this fall in our wonderful town of Sunderland Massachusetts! This Columbus Day weekend, we hope that you enjoy a stroll down our Main St and see all that we have to offer.  There will be special events for the whole family, and of course Mike’s Maze will be open! Spend the day in Sunderland and create a new fall family tradition!

Free parking for Saturday’s events will be at the Sunderland Elementary School.  A shuttle will be running on Saturday October 6 between the School and the activities around town. Handicapped parking will be available at the First Congregational Church and at the Town’s Cemetery.


This Columbus Day weekend is your last chance to purchase Sunderland 300th Souvenirs!  (To see souvenir options, click on the souvenir page of this website). Look for our 300th Anniversary Souvenir Booth in the center of town along with a booth from D and D Custom Solutions for more Sunderland Souvenirs!

The Sunderland Public Library is hosting the En Plein Air Exhibit.  This exhibit showcases artists who during our June event created beautiful works of art from a variety of mediums En Plein Air or In Full Air.

The exhibit can be seen at the Sunderland Public Library at 20 School Street.  Check the Library’s website for their hours of operation.  An opening reception will be held Saturday October 6 from 3:00 pm–5:00 pm.  

October 5 - 8

The Sunderland Tricentennial Art Exhibit will showcase beautiful artwork created by thirty local artists in many different mediums.  Many of the pieces will be for sale.

 The exhibit can be seen at the First Congregational Church Chapel at 91 Main St.  It will be open Friday - Monday from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm.  An opening reception will be held Saturday October 6, from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm

October 6 - 8

The Swampfield Historical Society will be open!  Come join us throughout the weekend to check out wonderful artifacts from Sunderland’s past. 

 Doors will be open at the Graves Memorial Building at 109 N. Main St on Saturday October 6, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm and Sunday October 7, and Monday October 8, from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

October 6

10:00 am – 2:00 pm: Come see the Sunderland 300th Anniversary Antique and Classic Car and Tractor show right on South Main Street!  There is a $5 suggested donation to enter a vehicle in the show and entrance for spectators is free!  If needed, the rain date will be October 13th.

10:00 am – 3:00 pm:  For one day only there will be a quilt show to accompany the Tricentennial Art Show at the First Congregational Church.  Join us to see beautiful displays from local quilters!

12:30 pm – 3:00 pm:  The Sunderland Ghost Tour will begin as a procession of a horse drawn carriage traveling down Main Street to the town cemetery.  There, the resident ghosts will each tell their own history from their time in the town while standing at the tombstone of their likeness.  Learn about the history of our town from its past residents!  If needed, the rain date will be October 13th. 

November 11

11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Join us as we honor our Veterans for a special Veteran’s Day Ceremony. Taking place at the Veterans Memorial, 12 School Street.  Light refreshments will follow at the Library. 

6:00 pm – 10:00 pm: Our 300th Anniversary year comes to a close as we dance the night away at our Anniversary Ball.  Tickets must be purchased in advance.
